Afterword

These days, a year passes by in the blink of an eye. This is Kinugasa.

I’m getting older, and my old hernia has started to flare up again, so I can’t exactly claim I’m in perfect health. But aside from that, I’ve actually been feeling healthier with each passing year. My blood pressure and other numbers that were once a little concerning have all steadily improved, settling nicely into “age-appropriate” territory. Really, it’s just the hernia left, that’s one thing that can’t be helped, but I’ll keep doing my best.

As for what comes next, Volume 3 will move us into early summer a bit ahead of schedule. That means the usual “event” everyone expects will be arriving sooner than planned.

Unlike Volume 2, which leaned more toward a heartwarming, easygoing atmosphere, this next installment might take on a sharper edge. But since it’s me saying this, you might want to take it with a grain of salt.

I keep thinking the conclusion is still far away, and yet… realizing that the first semester is already approaching its end makes me feel the story is moving faster than I expected. Since I prefer not to spoil much about the main plot or what’s coming, I’ll leave it at that for now.

So instead, let me drift into something more trivial—my personal life. Feel free to skip ahead. (This is just me filling space.)

I really feel my age when I notice how far I’ve drifted away from playing games. To put it simply, games like Mario Kart or Smash Bros, ones I used to play endlessly, now leave me satisfied after just a few minutes of playing with my kids. On my phone, the only game I even have installed is ‘YouZitsu’; nothing else.

There was a time when I couldn’t imagine not playing games. “What else would you do?” I thought. But now… before I know it, the whole day is over without me touching a single one!

Meanwhile, my children continue to grow up so quickly, right before my eyes. I can already feel time accelerating with each passing year, as if Janet’s Law itself is pressing down on me, reminding me that the older I get, the faster the days will flow.

Well then, everyone—

I look forward to seeing you again later this year.

That is, unless something truly troublesome happens. Something really troublesome… right!

Translation Team's Afterword

First off, thank you for picking up this volume and spending your time with our translation. If you’re reading this on PDF or EPUB, do drop by our website too! We have a dedicated reading page where you can leave paragraph comments. Yep, you can now scream “Kiyo, you absolute madman!” or “No way she just said that!” right next to the scene itself. And that’s just the start, expect more fun features to roll out in the future, so stay tuned!

Now, about the delay this time... We truly appreciate your patience. For this release, we’ve been experimenting with a new translation framework, particularly on the editing side. The goal was to make the output feel more fluid and natural, closer to a proper novel rather than just a straightforward translation. It took us a bit longer to fine-tune, but we believe the results were worth it.

By the way, we’re also working on the Year 2 manga! If you want more Classroom of the Elite (with pictures this time), check it out on Mangadex or Comick. And while you’re at it, make sure to check out our Discord server. It’s where you can hang out with fellow fans, discuss theories, and get updates on our projects before anyone else. We are also planning some fun events there.

From here, there’s plenty to look forward to as the Year 3 arc continues. Until then, we hope you enjoyed this release as much as we enjoyed working on it. See you in the next volume! And goodbye for now!

Akiso

Shiina winning?! This volume was a huge leap forward for Ayanokoji’s emotions, so much so that at times it felt almost unreal. I can’t wait to see what’s next! And with the next volume most likely featuring THE ISLAND EXAM, the hype is real.

A big thanks to the entire team for making it possible to bring you this volume with the quality and reading experience you deserve.

If you haven’t checked out our website yet, you’re missing out on sooo much! Special thanks to all the readers who made things even more entertaining with their comments. See you in the next volume!

Eduardo (Dev)

I'm Overworked.

The Real Eduardo (Definitely not akiso)

I'm not Overworked.

English really is an amazing language, so versatile, almost like C. Working on this volume made me appreciate that even more. If Japanese is Morishita’s makeshift gun, then English is the pair of chopsticks, rubber bands, and jury-rigged trigger she used to pull it off. It takes Morishita-level skill to handle it properly (few head pats to myself)

On a side note, my prediction for Y3 end is we won’t be getting a fully conclusive conclusion. There are simply too many plot points scattered by Kinu to tie up neatly in the remaining space. Which is exactly why I’m kinda excited for the possible sequel, maybe a university arc, or the political one.

Anyway, time to finally return to my Billions binge. Adiós.

Meihara Fuyu (Translator)

This project was fun! I'm looking forward to reading the next volume before everybody else too. Tho if Hashimoto sinks my new ship (HiyoXKiyo), then imma scratch them name from the TL, erased from history and stuff.. (JK)

NotInvented (Dev)

I hope you enjoyed this volume despite the long wait. Thanks for your patience!

Are Kiyotaka Ayanokoji's action evil or justified? Do the ends justify the means, and is he truly acting for the greater good? Is his final goal of being defeated possible?

RI || Great Love (Translator)

Hi! I am RI || Great Love (and yes this name is from the reference of the Novel Reverend Insanity. Btw RI & COTE is currently my favourite of all time.)

Anyways, I would like to express my deepest gratitude towards the Anime Anyway team for letting me be a part of their team. I feel honored to be a part of this team.

And I would also like to thank my dear community members for believing in us till this time. Your time and support is what keeps us going forward even in difficulty.

Getting this volume was a bit of a challenge this time. I had to make several trips to Tokyo, only to find it unavailable every single time, right up until just a day before the official release. After all those failed attempts and disappointment, we finally managed to get our hands on it in the end.

I hope God blesses us this beautiful time till the very end! Looking forward to a better future. See you in the next volume!

NanotechPikachu (Proofreader)

Anyways, Here's some insider info on things we are working on, For the next volume we are planning to [Redacted] which will make this sooo better and it will also have [Redacted] which you guys are gonna LOVE. Can't wait for these to be done. Hopefully, Akiso doesn't redact these.

Will see you in the next volume!
